USA TODAY on a whole seems to offer a lot of information. Is comprable to the L.A. TIMES

this was a good site. I was able to find info on South Africa, which suprised me. Gave interesting information, had a what's new catagory for S. Africa.

Good location , it gave info on history geography, culture, business, govt., and others.

The Ultimate Collection of News Links: Title says it all. This site contains almost all possible links to any foreign news papers and/or magazines. Very helpful if you don't know where to begin a search for info on any particular country.
Foreign News Links: A some what easier link to foreign news links. This site enables you to find information on your country of choice via the alphabet.
Newspapers-Electric Library: News link via the source of information (i.e. Newspapers, Magazines, Transcripts, Photographs and Maps). Very useful if looking for specific info from a specific sourse, (i.e. a photograph or map).
Newspapers within the United States: Very helpful site if you are looking for information from a newspaper that is published within the United States. Your search is narrowed by a selecetion of states. This link, for newspapers within CA, has all newspapers from the LA Times to the Beirut News.
Internet City Newstand: Compared to other sites (i.e. The Ultimate Collection of News Links and Foreign News Links), this site link seems to be very limited. I didn't find it too helpful nor interesting.
USA TODAY: USA Today Home page. Very useful for new information. It gives you the option of reading the summary or the whole story.
San Francisco Chronicle on The Gate: Compared to the LA times, this newspaper site is more "down to earth". Though the information may be of equal importance, the style used in reporting the story appeals to someone my age, the average twenty-something . . .
The Washington Times-Front Page: Though this site may not be useful to someone studying Contemporary World Affairs, it would be very useful to someone studying Domestic Affairs. This site is based on Domestic Politics ranging [today 12/17/97] from Clinton's stand of Affirmative Action to a possible investigation into former Secretary Ron Browns death in 1996.
My Virtual Reference Desk - My Virtual Newspaper: The most interesting News link yet! This site has it all, a link to worldwide news, domestic news and magazines and a link to college newspapers.
Internet Resources for Political Science, Public Administration: This site is a great choice for poli sci students. It has links to everything from political news, political parties, foreign governments, and much more.
Freedom of Expression Links: This site is commited to freedom of expression on the internet through its many campaigns such as the doomsday clock. It is also a good starting point for finding infor on political activism.

Blacklist of Internet Advertisers: I found this site via a link named George. I thought that it may have been a link the J.F.K. Jr. news magazine George, but instead I was lead to a blacklist of Internet advertisers.
PBS Online: A great link to possible sources about almost everything that you would ever need information on. From science to world and U.S. history. Possible info not only found through the internet, but also through PBS on your television.
Weekly Ink: Though I found this site very interesting and entertaining, it would be of no use to the political science student. It is more oriented with fashion and entertainment rather than political news.

Forbes Four Hundred - Index by Worth - Top 50: Useless. Of no importance to the average political science student, as myself.
ANU - 1995 Best Soc.Sci WWW Resources: A site that is visited rarely, it has links to sites for use in the humanites, social sciences and Asian studies. Not of much use to the Poli Sci student.
Virtual Tour of the US Government -- Tours of the White House and Branches of the US Government. Additional links lead to Government information, Historical Documents and Politics: The perfect site for the beginner. A virtual tour takes you step by step through the Untied States Government.
California Electronic Government Information: The perfect link for the person interested in California's politics and policies.

Foreign Affairs

Latin American Network Information Center (LANIC): The best link for information on any of the latin american countries from mexico and throughout South America. You can either narrow your research by country or by subject, (i.e. Anthropology, History). A wonderful source for the student interested in latin studies.
ArabNet -- Lebanon, Contents: My favorite link for information on any arab country, particularly Lebanon. Information is given on everything from Politics to Culture. An great site for the student studying the middle easter arab countries.
The Ultimate Jewish/Israel Link Launcher: By visiting this site, you may be linked to information about every aspect of Judaism and Israel from Culture to Politics. A great site for anyone interested in the Jewish state of Israel.

In this web site there is alot of information that a political science student would want to learn. There is information on business, the economy, education, law, government, and political science information from all over the world. This web site is an international web site so you could look for information from all over the world.

Map - Government in the 1980s

This is a great web site on how governments have changed all over the world. You can see the governments of the early 1900's to the late 1987 period on a map of the world. The map has different colors for every government.

This web site is a great web site if you want to look for just about any one person that you want information on, for instence if you want to know about Hitler or any of the past Presidents then you would find them in here. There are over 15,000 of historical entries that you can search. You can also read someones biography. In the computer they have a list of biographies and you can read it on the computer.

Muslim Women's Homepage

In this web site you can read about the true role of a women in the Muslim religion. You can read about how they must drees or behave, and the over all role of the women in the Muslim religion.

Tricycle Buddhist Review-Religion

In this web site they give you what they call the ABC's of the Buddhist religion. They give you all of this information in about six or seven paragraphs. They give you all of the key figures and the key words of the Buddhist religion.

this interesting because I never had a chance before to explore a site like this before. Fun, aswell as educational. Good info on countries around the world background.

The Christian Science Monitor

This is a good publication . Not only is it informative and fun, but the interactive. The quizzes for ads and the news were fun to do. Enjoyed the site.

San Francisco Chronicle on The Gate

The ideology of the artist, David Alfaro Siqueiros, is Marxism. During the 1920's he had visited Communist Russia and was considered a revolutionary during his time. Siqueiros brought back with him Marxist ideologies and expressed them in a mural painting in the United States where it was whitewashed. People who are against the restoration of the painting do not see the reason why so much money is used for this project when there are so many other projects to fund.

In Tiller, page 25, paragraph 2 , Siqueiros is considered to be a "leftist"or "left-winger."

The Getty institute wants to revise a 1932 mural which was painted by Marxist painter David Alfero Sigueiros. The mural on Alvera Sreet was white washed by city leaders in 1932 because it had a poor Mexican crucified with an American egale a top of the cross. Sigueiros says that the resons the mural was painted was because of the times America was going through with the depression and the other proplems around the world. The ideas in pluralism directly link it with the Multilateral Agreement on Investment because of the main idea of the agreement.

Shortly after the painting was done, it was whitewashed and now The Getty Conservation Institute is putting in $1 million for restoration project. The reason why it was whitewashed is because the painting appealed to a crude ethnic and class divisiveness. The artist who painted this controversial painting, David Alfaro Siqueiros was a Marxist. Marxism is a socialist ideology that became powerful and revolutionary force mainly because of the German philosopher, Karl Marx. The OECD Multilateral Agreement on Investment (MAI)

The world's richest industrialized countries are negotiating a treaty on foreign investment that will give more power to big corporations. It is called the Multilateral Agreement on Investment (MAI).The agreement gives new rights to multinational corporations (MNCs) and rich foreigners. By going out of its way to knock down 'barriers' to foreign investment, the MAI would put up new barriers to our democratic right to regulate our local affairs in ways that make good economic and environmental sense. The MAI, as the definition indicates, covers stocks, bonds, intellectual property rights, concessions, etc. So anything a government does that affects any of these 'assets' could be challenged under the MAI. Environmental controls on foreign-owned factories, restrictions on international financial speculation, and many other kinds of regulations all have to submit to the agreement's standards.Governments can't require foreign corporations to meet certain performance requirements, or conditions, even if these conditions are imposed on local companies. The MAI bars countries from putting restrictions on excessive flows of money into or out of their economies. These rapid flows can damage an economy, whether rich or poor, like it did to the value of the Mexican peso. By defining expropriation to include indirect expropriations, the MAI opens a new door for foreign investors to extend the battle over takings outside our normal political and legal process, where at least both sides have the right to be heard, into the one-sided MAI system. Giving no power to the people. The MAI doesn't give citizens any rights.there are no binding obligations on foreign investors that citizens, or even governments, can enforce through the MAI's dispute resolution rules. The MAI would forbid governments from applying these types of laws to foreign

businesses, which would create a double standard penalizing U.S. companies that do the right thing by not investing in
dictatorships. One of the main purposes of the agreement is to reach a consensus among industrialized countries, and use the MAI to pressure developing nations to
'open their economies' and change foreign investment laws. If developing countries sign the MAI, people in rich and poor countries could both lose. The MAI will give corporations more rights and confidence to
leave the US and other high wage countries, speeding up their move overseas in search of cheap labor. And developing
countries will have signed an agreement they did not help draft, and lose the ability to attach conditions to new foreign
investment. Most international treaties require six months notice if a country wants to drop out. The MAI goes farther.
A country that signs the agreement can't escape until at least five years have passed from the time the country ratified the MAI.
Then, the MAI's rules stop covering new foreign investment, but existing foreign investment still get to use the MAI for fifteen
more years. This is because the MAI is more concerned with promoting long-term investor confidence than it is with our democratic right to change our minds, and change our laws.
