butler has two kickoff return touchdowns, but seahawks fall
Despite two electrifying kickoff return touchdowns by receiver Corey Butler, the Harbor football team could not get out of an early hole as it finishes the season 0-10 in a 47-15 loss to the visiting Owls.
The Seahawks trailed 27-0 just before halftime, until Butler took a kickoff 84 yards for a touchdown to end the first half. Butler then had a 63-yard touchdown run called back due to holding early in the third quarter, then responded to another Citrus score with an 88-yard kickoff return touchdown with 11:12 remaining in the game.
The Harbor offense was held to 182 total yards and struggled through 13 penalties for 118 yards. Quarterback Colton Glandorff went 7-of-28 for 79 yards and five interceptions, while Butler tacked on 56 yards on 12 carries with his two return touchdowns. Cornerback Trey Martin led the team with 10 tackles and a forced fumble, while linebacker Daniel Torres had eight tackles to finish with 100 on the season, ranking in the top 10 in state. Torres' 77 solo tackles lead the state.
The Seahawks wrapped up a tough season filled with injuries at quarterback and on the offensive line and will look to rebound with a winning season and conference title in 2014.
