                             Players Moving On

The Harbor College men's basketball program will be sending four players to the next level after a record-setting season that saw the Seahawks reach the quarterfinal round of the Southern California Regional Playoffs. All four were solid contributors for the team and have earned their way to scholarships to four-year colleges.

Forward Kevin Dawson signed with San Diego Christian. Dawson was the team's leading assist man with 2.6 per game, while averaging 9.9 points per game last season. Dawson was an honorable mention selection for All-South Coast Conference honors in 2010-2011. His versatility at the forward position made him a coveted starter for the Seahawks for two seasons, as he looks to continue his bright basketball career at San Diego Christian.

Center/Forward Sheldon Allen signed with Cal State Dominguez Hills. Allen earned 1st Team All-South Coast Conference honors this past season after averaging 8.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. His team-high 32 blocks helped power a tough Harbor defense in 2010-11. At 6'9', Allen should certainly make an immediate impact at CSUDH.

Forward Marlin Ramos signed with Ecclesia College in Arkansas. Ramos was the team's leading scorer at 11.3 points per game and followed with 6.2 rebounds per game. Ramos made several key baskets during Harbor's run to the playoffs and will look to make more at Ecclesia College.

Center Sebastian Lyons also signed with Ecclesia College in Arkansas. Lyons was an energetic force off the bench for the Seahawks last season. At 6'7', Lyons should be crucial for Ecclesia as the Royals enter the 2011-2012 season.

Congratulations once more to the four Harbor standouts who have signed scholarships to the next level.
