          Unanimous consent for the Senate to designate June Burlingame Smith as its voting delegate to the ASCCC 2006 Spring Convention.

 

ITEMS/MOTIONS NOTICED FOR ACTION MARCH 16

 

          Campus Security Weapons Policy

          Ms. McMurray explained that the proponents of the motion had hoped that the "Hot Topics" meeting this past Monday might dispell the need for it, and called on Mr. Young to comment.  Considerable discussion followed.  Mr. Young affirmed that a motion will be noticed for action at the April 6 meeting.

          Curriculum Committee Approvals

          Mr. McKenzie commented on the noticed motion.  Unanimous consent to approve the motion as noticed:

          Library Sc ience 101 (Library Research Methods - 1 hour lecture, 1 unit credit to be offered in distance learning format); Math 266 to be deleted as a requisite for the AS Engineering Technology degree (total units for this degree to change from 67 to 62).

          District Action on SAP Payroll Problems

Mr. McKenzie commented on further action currently pending.  Ms. McMurray alerted senators to remaining problems.  Considerable discussion followed.  Mr. Stanbery affirmed that a motion will be noticed for action at the April 6 meeting.

Mr. Lemon and Mr. Young updated the Senate on the progress of the proposal, which is now at the stage in the formal process where Senate action is required.
