T120
Administrative Report
Dr. Spink reported that district-wide restrictions are under consideration, and the trial run of the new network spam filter is nearly complete, after which items flagged as 'spam' will be deleted. After some discussion on the status of the budget, Dr. Spink reported that, on Dr. Bossler's retirement, that position will not be filled.
ASO Report
Ms. McKnight alerted the Senate to the special holiday film showings in Seahawk Center from 1 to 4 p.m. on December 19.
Consent Items
Senate meeting schedule
Unanimous consent to postpone the next Senate meeting to January 18, 2007.
LAHC-ALL Update
Unanimous consent to ask the IT department to check the accuracy of the 'LAHC-ALL' listing and update it for any errors or omissions. Several suggestions were made for expediting this.
Senate representation on the Dean of Academic Affairs selection committee
Unanimous consent to designate Brenda Guertin as the Senate's representative on this committee, unless she is unable to serve, in which case Mr. Wood will be the Senate designee. Concern was expressed that the filling of the position involved should be revenue-neutral, in view of resulting new or upgraded administrative or staff positions now possible in the absence of an updated administrative structural plan; and that a related supplanting of matriculation funds may also be pending.
