Institutional SLO Assessment
The Assessment Committee is coordinating the assessment of one Institutional Student Learning Outcome (ISLO) each year. Programs/Pathways conduct assessment of their related SLOs at the same time.
Fall 2010 and 2011: ISLO#1 Communication
Students across a variety of disciplines were asked to write an essay. The essays were scored in January 2011.

April 8, 2011:
Campus-wide Discussion of Pre-Test Results
Students in the same courses wrote essays after an instructor-selected intervention designed to improve their writing.

Flex Workshop and Campus Discussionof Post-Test Results
Fall 2011: ISLO#3 Information Competency
Selected class sections from a cross-section of the campus participated in an Information Competency session at the Library. The results are being evaluated and discussed this Spring.
Fall 2012: ISLO#2 Cognition
Work is currently underway to develop a quantitative reasoning assessment. Instructors who would like to participate, please contact Lora Lane x4178.
