SPRING 2012 BOOK AWARD/CASH GRANTS
The deadline to use your book award has passed. If you made arrangements with Tim to use your book award after the deadline, you will need to get a memo from him to take to the bookstore to use the remaining balance of your book award.
EOPS CONTACT AVAILABILITY
State budget reductions have severely limited the amount of counseling hours that we can make available to students each semester. This, in turn, has affected the availability of open appointment slots with counselors throughout the semester as they tend to fill up quickly. We understand this creates a burden on students as they attempt to juggle busy schedules and still meet their mandated contact requirements for the EOPS program.
We make every effort to offer enough appointments for all students. This means that we have to offer some appointments as group sessions. These group sessions do count as contacts for the semester.
If you attempt to schedule an appointment and are told that there are no available openings, please continue to check back with us on a regular basis as we will eventually make new appointments available.
Also, in an effort to offer as many appointments as possible, we have implemented a new policy: if you are late for your scheduled appointment, you risk forfeiting that appointment and we may offer it to a waiting student.
DROP-IN APPOINTMENTS
In an effort to alleviate the demand for counselor appointments, we are now reserving time each week from the counselors' schedules for drop-in appointments. These appointments will be short (10-15 minute) appointments to ask quick questions, and they will not count as regular appointments.
Please contact the EOPS Office to find out what drop-in appointment times are available.
