Learning Disabilities Program

The Learning Disabilities Program at Los Angeles Harbor College provides support for students who need assistance in pursuing their educational goals due to a disability which affects learning. The learning disabilities specialist works with them individually to assess their learning needs and makes recommendations for special classes and accommodations

to support their college educational plans.

High Tech Center for Students with Disabilities

Located in the Learning Resource Center, this lab provides computer access to  students with verified disabilities. Trained student assistants provide individual and small group instruction in all of the self-paced special classes offered through the Learning Disabilities Program. Students receive instructional support for their mathematics and English classes and learn how to use the latest software to scan and read their textbooks, enlarge and read text on the computer screens, and dictate information into a word processor. In order to take these classes or use this lab, students need to be enrolled in Special Programs & Services.
