Application deadlines:
I. On-Campus Classes:
A. Full Time
1) You are outside of the U.S. and need to apply for a
student (F-1) visa: August 1st for Fall
semester admission and January 1st for Spring
semester admission. Click on this link for
instructions and forms. [Note: US Embassy lead
times for visa interviews vary. In
some instances, where interview lead times are
relatively short, the International Student Office may
consider applications up to the 2nd week of
August or January.]
2) You are inside the U.S., have an F-1 visa, are in
status at your current school and want to transfer to
Los Angeles Harbor College: Up to the first day of the
semester, depending on class availability. If you are
out of status: Contact the International Student Office
for further information.
3) Change of Status applicants: Deadline may vary
depending on prospective student's current non-
immigrant visa type or visa status or/and end date on
I-94 (the white card in passport). Contact
the International Student Office for an appointment.
In certain situations, prospective student may wish to
seek the advice of an attorney.
B. Part Time
Up to the start of classes if you are a full time
F-1 student at another college. Be sure to bring
a letter of permission (on school letterhead) from the
International Student Office of your current full time
school, your I-20, and your valid passport.
II. On-Line Classes
A. Full time
You live outside the U.S. and will take the online
class while living outside of the U.S.: No
deadline. Because these classes fill early and
because it can take from 3 to 10 days to process an
online application, students are advised to apply
early. File an online application here.
B. Part Time
1) You live outside the U.S. and will take the online
class while living outside of the U.S.: No
deadline. (See II A above for additional information.)
2) You live inside the U.S. and are attending a U.S.
institution as an F-1 Visa Student:
Contact the International Student Office at LAHC for
further instructions. (F-1 students are
limited to one online course per semester if the online
class is considered part of their 12-unit minimum course
load.)
