MEETING MINUTES

1.                              Open meeting and introductions

2.                              safety inspections:   The committee discussed the option of the safety inspections in each building on campus.   it was decided that due to the on-going construction, along with planned construction in other areas, that the inspections were not recommended at this time.   it was noted that if there are complaints or concerns about certain area(s), the committee would respond immediately withOUT hesitation.

3.                              storage containers:   The container issue is a mute point at this time.   The campus core team has made all decisions regarding the container issue, along with modular buiLDing issues.

4.                              Campus exit drills:   The campus will resume normal exit (emergency evacuation) drills during the month of april and may.   There will also be additional drills for “shelter-in-place” in each building.   Mr. Young will distribute the drill schedule to the CPC, division chairs and intra-campus mail, along with email posting on the lahc WEBSITE.

5.                              campus disaster & evacuation plan---Update by VP Rosas:   mR. ROSAS RELATED THAT FORMER VP DAVIS WAS ORIGINALLY TASKED WITH THE UPDATE AND RE-WRITE OF THE CAMPUS DISASTER AND EVACUATION PLAN.   mr. young agreed to update and re-write the plan as part of his spring assignment.   there was major concern voiced on the importance of an updated and valid evacuation drill with the on-going construction, re-routed parking and walkways, etc.

6.                              parking review:   parking was discussed.   it was agreed that the parking situation around campus would be difficult and that everyone would be inconvenienced duringthe construction time.   members brought up the fact that the posted “staff” parking adjacent to the theater was not being used.   it was decided to have ten parking stalls remain “staff” and the remaining stalls be left available for students.   otherwise, no other complaints.

7.                              update on restoration projects-time lines:   Bill englert briefed everyone on the projects.

8.                              contractor employee parking and truck routes:   the issue of contractor parking became rather heated.   The problem was explained (again-third month in a row) that the contractors arrive on campus between 6:00 and 7:00 am AND PARK NEAREST TO THE CAMPUS BUILDINGS AND IN STAFF PARKING AREAS.   AGAIN NOTED, THE CONSTRUCTION CREWS ARRIVE EARLY AND LEAVE LATE, never MOVING THE VEHICLES.   BILL ENGLERT NOTED AGAIN THAT THE CREWS HAVE LEARNED TO PURCHASE A DAILY PARKING PASS, THEREFORE, LEGALLY ALLOWING THEM TO PARK ANYWHERE.   AGAIN, THE COMMITTEE SUGGESTED THAT PARKING BE A CONDITION OF EACH CONTRACT WITH LAHC AND REMINDER THE CONSTRUCTION CREWS WORK FOR THE COLLEGE, NOT THE COLLEGE WORKING FOR THEM.

9.                              FLOOR ITEMS:   NO FLOOR ITEMS.

10.                          end of meeting
